Web Browser : I gotta say it: The Instinct's browser is an ABYSMAL failure of design.
But for some reason, despite Sprint's EV-DO Rev. A network, the browser is slow slow slow, too slow to do much of anything.
That, and the decision to marry Instinct only to select plans, is rather risky IMHO.
Coupled with a fairly bad keyboard, trying to type in a URL into the browser is hell while viewing a full webpage at the default resolution is a study in agony.
The result, after just a week of use, is a buffed and scratched screen that makes screen viewing difficult under some light.

The screen lacks multi-touch functionality.
While this is true, its web browser is so lame that the whole experience is disappointing.
Browsing the Web is the only time the 240-by-432-pixel display feels cramped to me. You can hide many of the elements on the screen, giving you a nearly full-screen experience, but that's still not enough.
Maybe I'm being too hard on the browser, but everything else about the Instinct is so slick that the browser looks weak in comparison.
It's only real flaw is a weak web browser.
However, the Instinct also lacks an accelerometer, which prevents it from auto-rotating the image if the phone is tilted on its side.
This can be faster (when cell reception is poor) and can save people like my self an arm and a leg when it comes to paying for overage charges on my data plan.
While browsing the web, the screen makes feel cramped.
But the Instinct still has some features that Apple's handset will lack.
The web browser on the Instinct is a poor first attempt.
We were not particularly impressed by the Instinct's alerts due to the limited options for when an alert will sound and the lack of snooze functionality.
The lack of these features is what results in the poor score you see here.
The browser is slow and doesnt have NEAR enough screen real estate to be useful.
Besides, you can fill as many 8GB microsd cards as you want with mp3s on the intinct. so the instinct lacks wifi, but with evdo rev a at 1. 4-2 Mbps, who needs it?

Anyone who?s attempted to view full web pages on a typical mobile device is often frustrated by the limitations of the screen.

The only complaint I have is the browser.
The Instinct, which is available exclusively through Sprint Nextel, lacks Wi-Fi, but it loads Web pages pretty quickly over Sprint's data network.
The phone still suffers from the same problems that most touch screen phones have: the Operating software.
It has no built in instant messaging, and the whole phone seemed sluggish when it came to multimedia functions.
While at the Sprint store, the speeds were considerably slower that when I took it out and used my AT&T card.
It's not a terrible browser, the screen shot above shows what it can do, but it's a long way from Safari in terms of speed, rendering quality, ease of use, compatibility with websites and JavaScript support.
