The communications quality is in keeping with the modern high standards, there are no problems on this front.

This is due to the fact that N81 is considerably limited as per the files it can play and videos with a greater bit rate are obviously a problem for this phone.

But this is a chunky phone which is disappointing in some areas.

With so much entertainment, there's never a dull moment.

However, the N81 has an annoying flaw which we mentioned earlier: the slider screen wobbles when it's open.

For some strange reason the Nokia N81 lacks the Quickoffice file viewers that are found on all other S60 devices we've heard of. This means that you can't view Word, Excel and Powerpoint files out of the box.

We're not happy about this, viewing office documents should be a standard feature of any advanced smart phone and the fact that the Nokia N81 lacks it is just stupid.

A disappointment however for this phone is the camera.

You might wonder why I am not including photography in the list, but the 2-megapixel camera is one of the aspects of this handset that disappoints.

We found the keypad on the N81 to be small with poor tactile feedback, poor differentiation between keys and very prone to errors.

We found that it was actually easier to type on the Nokia N81's cramped keyboard using only a single hand.
