The bottom line: The Nokia N73 offers a high-quality camera phone plus some nice extras in a stylish package, but its sluggish performance keeps us from giving it higher praises.
I am using for more than 6 months,N73 is excellent model.
The best feature on N73 is the 3Mp camera.
The phone gets excellent reception too.
Battery life when listening to music with the screen dimmed is excellent: we played tunes for 5 hours over headphones and had more than 50% battery remaining.
The large, colorful and bright display is perfect for viewing videos on the go. The phone can play 3GP, MPEG4 and RealPlayer format files and it handled our QVGA 500k/bps video, AAC stereo test video with aplomb.
The screen is gorgeous!
Voice quality is excellent on both ends, and the speakerphone is clear.
Messaging - Excellent It doesn't support backing up messages or show you which ones have been replied to, but the N73 is still a perfect choice for avid texters with its outstandingly comfortable keypad and a large screen which shows a whopping 170 characters at a time.
Despite its bulk, the N73 is a reasonably attractive phone, with its king-sized display being the centre of attention.
Camera is fantastic have had good photos.
The camera quality is excellent, and I love the fact that it has both an MP3 player and radio.
N73 is indeed a SUPERB phone! the audio and video features are excellent.
I suggest that Nokia N73 is the best phone.

The camera is fantastic it takes perfect pictures with no problem what so ever only problem I have with the phone is, it's a bit slow when loading up when switching on takes a few seconds.
The camera is just brilliant the shots are in better detail than in any other phone I've had.

I think if you fill up your phone memory then it begins to slow down the sound quality is excellent.

This display has amazing quality and clarity to make browsing 3G content and video calling a much more enjoyable experience.
The Nokia N73 is a member of the excellent Nokia Nseries range of mobile phones and is a high end 3G device with camera and MP3 player.
Basically the Phone was excellent though it has some cons.
Since I do love taking pictures, the phone is excellent in taking very high quality pictures as opposed to a typical pixelated cell phone picture as well allowing me to have manual control over the exposure of pictures.
The camera is superb and rivals that of my dedicated digital cameras.
The screen is the same stunning 262k colour 240 x 320 pixel unit which is chosen for its clarity as part of the standard N73 camera phone model, here it has all those features plus makes for a great interface for the media player functions.
Battery life is also excellent with the N73's 1100 mAh battery managing a real world 4 day standby with a good 4 hour talk time even when using 3G and the loud and clear built in handsfree speakerphone.
The speakers are very loud and the phone can easily be used as a small boombox of sorts, perfect for sharing your music with friends, or annoying the coworkers in the cubicle next to yours.
Battery life is excellent, lasting for up to ten days in pure standby mode, and needing a charge every three to four days with regular use.
These features can be put to good use to show off the qualities of the handset by combining them to create a slideshow which would be possible by simply selecting the best images and soundtracks and having them play simultaneously.
Featuring a CarlZeiss lens, the Nokia N73 is one of the latest batch of premium Nokia Nseries camera smartphones, or as Nokia marketing people like to say, 'multimedia computers', originally launched last year.
The display is fantastic, S60 3rd Edition fixes the appointment/note issue, and the web browser is incredible.

I have read quite some reviews now and I tend to get the feeling that (with a little work) the N73 is an awesome smartphone.
As for the rest the camera pics are excellent in normal light and okish with flash(indoors), but the video camera is excellent both inside and outside.
The display is one of the best thing that this phone has as Nokia has moved away from VGA resolution to give way to QVGA resolution ie. 240 X 320 which can be seen on this model.

The build quality seems very good, as you would expect, and the N73's finish is near perfect as well.
Pros: Good Features, good battery life, global usage
The display really hits the sweet spot in its combination of size, resolution and color depth.
You can set your favorite stations as pre-sets and sound quality is surprisingly good.
The 3. 2 megapixel camera uses a CMOS sensor (as do other camera phones and even some dedicated cameras and digital SLRs like Canon's).
No more deciding between a useful business phone and one that's fun to use and can take simply wonderful photos.
A perfect combination of fun and excitement.
Given its size, the phone is fairly light, and while somewhat on a large side, fits nicely in a jean pocket.
It will not, however, capture it in full detail that you can print, frame and be proud of. If you are going on a hike, or to a party (low light conditions), take a dedicated camera along with you.
Its bright screen, excellent web browser, clear voice reproduction and tons of other features make it desirable in my eyes.
If you want a powerful device with a superior integrated camera, the N73 is a good candidate.

Relatively good battery life
We discovered some exciting things, such as the best search features we have seen on any mobile device, a handy multimedia key, a photo upload to Flickr, and a camera that can capture beautiful 3 megapixel pictures.
The image quality in the Nokia N73 is very good when compared to other 2 and 3 megapixel camera phones.
While we discovered a few exciting new features, and found that many familiar features were working well, we encountered problems in some essential features.
A less exciting new feature in the Nokia N73 is a blinking blue light that begins to flash when you haven't used your phone for a few minutes.
Useful smartphone features are beginning to make their way into everyday life, as the Search application clearly demonstrates.

This phone was amazingly light, easy to use, and filled with little gadgets inside it.
It has the same features-a rotating camera lens n73 is more good looking.
I read reviews and did little research before buying the phone, but it was a great choice! the quality of the camera is just as good as a digital camera, the battery lasts way longer compared to my old phone (Sharp GX32), and I liked the functions the most.
It has a very good design and taking pictures has never been this easy!
The sound quality is very good, too.
But enough pointless similes: the N73 is a candybar handset with a nice solid feel to it, with the majority of controls limited to a slightly-extended keypad on the bottom third of the front.
The screen takes up just less than half of the front of the handset and a very nice screen it is too.
The camera takes good sharp photos,the autofocus works well and also has a good range of shooting options. . .
All in all its been a good phone. . .
I think the Stero Widening doesnt sound good like it was on IE and also mp3 player cant be closed from equaliser!
Well, the first time I did this my phone ended up back to Nokia for a fortnight whilst they fixed it.
I followed the procedure and all worked fine (Vodafone UK phone) - BUT and it is a big BUT after restoring thebackup it is now completely screwed.
The N73 is an elegant member of the popular Nokia N series.
The phone is full of great technology which is user friendly & improves the phones performance.
Other than this though, it's a fantastic phone.

The phone is a good size & weight but feels a little flimsy, I am quite careful with my phones so this is not an issue but others might be wary.

This is the best phone I have had because of the features.

This is not user friendly phone too, very complicated.
Sure the camera takes great pictures, sound is fantastic etc etc but the time the camera takes to actually get going the photo opportunity will be well past.
Camera on it I think is the best feature, even my mate who is a phone buff was well impressed with the camera, although the secondary camera (front one) is a bit of a let down.
The video is decent for a mobile phone & the photos are amazing, thanks to the 3. 2 MP Carl Zeiss autofocus optics.
Just have few shortfall though as it does not support Yahoo Go! Application here in the Phil's but anyway it's a good phone.

The N73 is a step in the right direction for Nokia gorgeous simplicity of form, packed with features & a whopping 3. 2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeis Lens. 3 of my colleagues have also upgraded to the N73 since seeing mine & you should too.
However, camera is very good in natural daylight, quite poor in the dark though even with a flash.

In my books if you want a reliable good phone go for the sony ericson k800 but if you want a phone with high features such as music player,3. 2 meg camara,video record/player and lots of editing features go for n73. (not as reliable as K800i though)

Probably the best convergence of technologies in a very compact and easy to hold package.
The camera has a nice sliding cover to protect the lens and turns on the camera function when you open it.

You can change the display's theme and backlight time, but there's no way to increase font size, which may cause some problems for users with impaired eyesight.

Great features, some of which i will not use, but as spelled out by many others, the fiddly joystick, small keypad and slow laggy software hold this phone back.
We are not convinced that it is the right way to expose camera features to users, and we suspect it contributed to the camera's shaky performance.
If you suspect that your phone is behaving oddly because of software problems, you don't have to take it to an authorized service center anymore for re-programming (for re-flashing the memory).

It's the world's slowest phone, if you take a photo & edit it, it can take minutes to save the edited photo.
Another problem is the design of the keys.

I don't know why some people tells that battery life is bad, my battery last me 2 days-heavy use.

Camera is exceptional apart from optical zoom missing it would replace my digital camera.
Not very useful if the battery has been the problem in the first place.
As soon as the memory is clogged up by features' usage or the rubbish software some of the Carriers have installed on it, the phone becomes sluggish & a pain to use.
Those who are complaining about the phone being slow should make sure that all unused applications are closed as this slows the phone down.
So apart from the camera the N73 is a poor second to the 6230i which still has my sim in it!
Camera (although good quality) takes an age to cue up so you miss your photo opportunity.

Finally for a 3. 2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics the image quality is rather pathetic, my 6-year old 2 megapixel Canon Ixus scores far far higher.
But this phone is bad.
Cramped keypad which takes a lot of getting used to if you have big hands.

Faulty Charger The phone works perfectly, however, after approximately 3 charges, the charger stopped working.
The video quality was lacking though, with clips looking too grainy.
The overall performance of the phone is mediocre as users have to cope with an annoying lag when switching between applications and the phone even tends to freeze up sometimes.
If ur nokia n73 is working slow or crashing then just upgrade the firmware of ur phone to the latest using nsu, but remember to take backup as it will blow up all data.
The Bottom Line: The Nokia N73 simply has too many weaknesses to be considered an acceptable cell phone.
The N73 is a candybar, lacks WiFI, and features a 3MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics.
While the N73's keypad fails ever so slightly in this regard, its shortcomings are more than made up for by the spaciousness of the QVGA display it makes room for.
to those who says that n73 cam is better than k800i,,," ur wrong X" is the n73 have a cybershot? ans. nothing. . . therefore,,, k800i is more than the best! ! !

Included features are automatically saving screen-shoots in JPEG, PNG, BMP or MBM picture file format, customize Print Screen shortcut key, timer for a delay screen capturing, or continuous mode of screen-shooting at every a few seconds.
Unfortunately, the responsiveness of the camera is pretty slow, the shutter lag is long and the autofocus takes a while, but if you can anticipate your shots its no problem.
Hi my n73 phone has got a problem with the theme software, when i install a theme it say that it cannot install it.
The handset also gives access to Internet on your mobile and e-mail facility, so that you don't miss any important e-mails from the office.
No doubt that the Nokia N73 is a value for money phone but poor battery life and sluggish performance are surprising drawbacks.
Antony, looks like your Nokia N73 or the battery is causing the problem.
As most softwares are malwares and can cause serious hanging problems for your cell.
The default setup and some of the applications (like the photo browser) contain annoying plugs for online services and various lame ideas (like Nokia Lifeblog).
And even the camera is border-line due to the unacceptable delay.
Keypad is the negative point of this phone as it has been squeezed and hence is far from being ergonomic and easy to use.
The freezing might be because of other programs running simultaneously. - Using illegal softwares are something which I strongly discourage but some websites (imserba. com) operate illegaly.

The phone's keyboard, though, is a disappointment.
The keypad found on Nokia N73 is beneath criticism ? it occupies the bottom end of the handset and moreover proposes congested numeric keys area.
As far as I remember not a single smartphone by Nokia has carried such mediocre joystick until today.
Except when LA had that power failure which knocked out mobile phone base stations, but that one is not the N73's problem.
A blue tint in cloudy weather (open shade where most of the color comes from) and very slow shutter speed is characteristic of early digital cameras.

However this is not true, due to when inserting the card to my computer it registers fine and disk check doesnt suggest any problems.

I've always been a Nokia fan as I find them really easy to text on - but this phone is terrible as there is other buttons at the sides of the number buttons I found them really hard to press & was constantly having to go back & start again.
The original software on the N73 was rather buggy.
But my major PROBLEM is the phone's sluggish SMS MESSAGING feature.
The front camera is a pain it's only clear in daylight.
The prices for the limited plans they offer are ridiculous.
The software seems to be the pain point for the phone.
