Display The display on the E61 is a lovely, proper 4:3 aspect ratio QVGA (320x240) resolution display.
The display is excellent and the UI makes good use of the resolution resulting in very clear and sharp text and icons.
The Visual History feature is awesome and allows you to see thumbnails of the full page in your history so you can easily go back to a previous page without guessing what page will come up next.
For my business I frequently need to access the internet while travelling, and while the E61's built in browser is excellent for occasional use, it does not compare with the experience of browsing on a full sized screen.

Oh, and I usually proclaim that the current phone that I have is the best thing since sliced bread, and of course I end up replacing it which erodes my credibility.
The E61 has the best call quality of any mobile phone I've used.
The quality of voice calls is excellent (as you would expect from Nokia) and the antenna/reception is much better than my old phone.
Below the screen is a backlit keyboard which is a pleasure to use with well spaced keys in a natural layout, yes they are a bit small and more of a thumb board but you soon manage to work quite quickly and are able to crank out text messages and emails.
The full-size keyboard is brilliant to use, although, with its double overrun functions on some buttons, it is definitely not for an inexperienced/clumsy users.

The phone is relatively light (144 g) and quite convenient to hold and operate.
The size and spacing of the keys is quite sufficient not to press several of them at once and the tactile feedback is acceptable (though the keys are a little bit too soft and too shaky to my liking, I'd prefer a perceptible click).

From what I understand, even thou the E61 is FCC approved, it was not designed to be sold in the Americas.
It turns out that Symbian has been churning out really good applications (like this podcast downloader ) for the E61 and other devices on Symbian.
They give a lot more features then the regular phone and are handy tools to carry around.
Browser is better with more realistic rendering due to wider screen. . . . . but yes its got small battery and no vibrator and its still triband compared to 3G ,Quanband and Wifi in E61.
The beauty of this design is that it is incredibly easy to hold with one hand and type e-mail's etc. without any fuss whatsoever.
But for me it is the best solution, as it has all of the sweet features that an old-school NOKIA has, and it feels like a normal phone, yet you can surf, create & edit & open Word, Excel and Powerpoint files.
This is BY FAR the sweetest mobile phone feature I have had, and I miss it a lot on the otherwise splendid E-61.

When I try to connect, the phone just tells me that there is a connection error.

No touchscreen on the E61 would be a dealbreaker for me. . plus it is an ugly phone running Symbian. .
Saying the Symbian is weak software wise is just not true.
Be that as it may, there are some shortcomings that irritate me -- specifically, the E61's relatively poor performance playing video.
Because of the inherently bad quality of a video that small, as well as RealPlayer's difficulties stretching videos with smaller dimensions, I chose not to do further tests with this codec.

Hi The FAQ now states that the bluetooth disconnect problem after approx 1 min is due to a missing sniff mode in the handset.
Alas, I suspect that Bluetooth is a lot slower than direct USB cable connection. . .
